A funky, elegant, healthy and ecological lifestyle that is attainable by everyone.

BiG TeA PaRtY’s mission is to promote a sustainable living trinity — nutrition, environmentalism and community service — a practical, rewarding lifestyle where one’s actions won’t have a negative effect on future generations.
BiG TeA PaRtY is a woman-run collective created by:
Elizabeth Fiend, writer/host; Valerie Keller, editor; Gretjen Clausing, camera
Music by Allen Fiend.
BiG TeA PaRtY from YEAR ONE:
Starting in 1998 as 3-minute interstitial spots, on the topics of cooking crafts and anarchy, BiG TeA PaRtY videos first premiered on DUTV, Drexel University’s cable TV station.
In 2000 BiG TeA PaRtY became more ambitious and produced the award winning documentary, Unconventional Coverage: The Message and the Means (available as a free rental at TLV video stores). Winner of the Best Documentary Award at the Philadelphia Film Festival, Festival of Independents this high-production tour-de-force captured the essence, action and meaning of the protests during the Republican National Convention, right her in Philly. Says the Chicago Tribune of BTP host Elizabeth Fiend “Her documentary on the demonstrations protesting the Republican Convention in Philadelphia was pretty much the only coverage I can remember that actually told you what the protestors were protesting.” An off-shoot from this video on the topic of gun violence was an international finalist in AdBusters Creative Resistance Campaign.
BiG TeA PaRtY then moved on to produce 6 mini-documentaries for Public Television’s WYBE series Philadelphia Stories. One of these documentaries, SK8 B-Lo I-95 detailing the banning of skateboarding at Love Park and the creation of a D.I.Y. skate park in FDR park, was part of ESPN’s X-Games Tube Action Sports Film Festival.
BiG TeA PaRtY continued to define and refine their mission by branching out into the field of educational videos created specifically for families and the classroom. Green Tea Party: It’s Elemental, a half-hour video, teaches school-age children how to live a more environmentally-friendly lifestyle. No Butts About It (12 min.) is a hilarious look at health habits. This video can be used to stem the tide of obesity, diabetes and to quit smoking cigarettes.
BiG TeA PaRtY host Elizabeth Fiend has appeared on NBC’s Today show and The Food Network’s On the Road with Roker filmed a segment in her South Philly home. Says Al Roker “Elizabeth is a star in her home town of Philadelphia. She has her own cooking and lifestyle show called Big Tea Party. But it’s not like any tea party I’ve been to. Unless of course you count the Mad Hatter.” Her recipe for a vegetarian cheese steak was featured in The Lonely Planet Travel Guide to Philadelphia.
The TV series, documentaries and educational videos for kids are also broadcast nationally on satellite television on the Dish Network as part of Free Speech TV.
If you can’t attend our party you can make a donation at BiG TeA PaRtY’s store thru PayPal. www.bigteaparty.com/category/big-tea-party-store/ Your donation will support the ongoing development of innovative edge-u-cational tools — videos, articles, movement-building toolkits, and our participation at hands on learning events like Simon Gratz High School, Health Fair (Philly), Act Up NY, outreach tool (NYC); and GreenFest Environmental Fair (Pittsburgh).

Dang man! Three bucks! Can’t I just bring some canned food?
from Valerie Tea Party:
um, this is a fundraiser, thus we are asking for funds! We need the cash, baby! We do, however have a sliding scale from $2.89 to $3.00. But seriously, if you or anyone who reads this wants to donate food, check this site: http://www.philabundance.org/.
